Okay, we admit it. We seem to have some less-than-healthy interest in all marketing matters related to Kentucky Fried Chicken … (are the words ‘healthy’ and ‘Kentucky Fried Chicken’ even appropriate to use in the same sentence?)
No, really, it’s quite random that KFC seems to come up in the conversation here so frequently. Yet, we couldn’t help but be curious about what kind of business surge KFC saw after the Michael Jackson memorial service. When big, ole’ smiley Magic Johnson told the story about dining at Michael Jackson’s house, and the chef serving Michael a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken, the marketing team at KFC must have been quite “pleased”.
According to Brandon Mendelson at the SoapBoxIncluded blog, after this happened, “KFC then became a trending topic on Twitter, where it remained for most of the day. People using the KFC term were saying they either went to KFC after hearing the story or were planning to go on Tuesday.”
… More on the continuing study on ‘how to use marketing to see fried (or grilled) chicken as it becomes available.
