Creating book sales with Twitter.
With great fascination, we’ve been observing and sharing with you the growing Twitter following of Coach John Calipari, the men’s basketball coach at the University of Kentucky. Twittering less than 2 months, he now has roughly 230,000 Twitter followers.
But Coach Calipari is taking the social media marketing power of Twitter a step further. He’s using it to help build powerful momentum for his new book, Bounce Back. Although the book is not due for release until September, using primarily his Twitter power, Coach Calipari managed to drive pre-sales of the book to a number 10 rank on Amazon in motivational books, and top rankings in areas like self-help and sports, as well ranking number 800 in all categories. (Rankings may have gone higher, but this is what he accomplished by tweeting about the book on a single day).
It is just further demonstration of this coach’s skill in using the strategies of an Obvious Expert to build his brand.
