Here’s what readers are saying about The Obvious Expert. We’ve included both the positive and the critical comments… why? Because we want you to know exactly what others are saying, not just a ’sanitized’ marketing message. If we tell you what they didn’t like (which we take seriously and strive to learn from), then you have every reason to believe the comments about what they do like! Transparency never hurts you in business; it only serves to build credibility.

“In his excellent, wonderful, down-to-earth, and absolutely brilliant book, How to Position Yourself as the Obvious Expert, Elsom Eldridge clearly shows why he’s affectionately known as the “Consultant’s Consultant.”
His easy to follow and implement strategies, tips, and proven methods will truly help you quickly become known as the “Go-To Guy” (or Gal) in your field.
Elsom takes you through a step-by-step, paint-by-the-numbers plan anyone can follow. He teaches you exactly how to leverage what you have now, take some simple and doable steps, and quickly establish yourself as the obvious expert in your field.
And it works. You’d have to be dead broke or crazy not to invest a smart twenty-five bucks in yourself and get this book as fast as you can. What if one of your competitors already has his or her copy?
Well … you’re in serious trouble – that’s what … Get your copy *right now* while you still can.”

“The title says it all, however, it wasn’t so obvious as to how to be an expert until I read this eye opening book. I would have saved time, energy and money if I had only read this book sooner. Positioning being everything, I can now position myself as the obvious expert in anything I do. Thank you Elsom & Mark for creating this gem.”

“The style is irksome, but the content is excellent, I don’t like the way this book is written and presented. It has a circus-like approach with numberless sidebars extolling success stories, endorsements of the authors and, last not but not least, tips on marketing your consultancy. The material isn’t actually extraneous – some of it is quite helpful – it is just the business and clutter of the layout.
Overall, the design is poor. Way too much bold type to emphasize points, bullets galore, enough drop-shadow boxes to build a Canadian Olympics village.” But the content, once you look beyond the design kitsch, is excellent. None of the information is particularly new or novel. Show off your expertise by writing, getting speaking engagements, media exposure and so on.
What makes the book appealing is that it collects all the techniques in one place. It isn’t difficult to use this book as a checklist of what you should be doing.
The mood of the book is definitely upbeat with a “you can do it too!” pulse. It is, frankly, enjoyable.
The authors write in a folksy, unpretentious style which also adds to the appeal.
Sure, there are probably better designed books out there, but this one with its down-home style and folksy advice is as good as any. Keep it handy for your marketing brainstorming sessions.”
